Veteran's Benefits

Application Fee Waiver

All veterans receive an automatic application fee waiver from Penn Law.  To receive a fee waiver coupon number to submit on LSAC, enter your service information and attach your DD-214 to the Service Recognition Fee Waiver Application prior to submitting your application.

Post 9/11 G.I. Bill

The Post 9-11 GI Bill can provide significant funds to help offset the costs of tuition and fees. These funds are generally provided directly to the school during the first semester. Please refer to the Department of Veterans Affairs' Post 9-11 GI Bill webpage for more information.

Yellow Ribbon Program

Penn Law is a generous supporter of the Yellow Ribbon Program. The law school supports an UNLIMITED number of student veterans through this program, and contributes substantial funds to cover additional tuition and fees. These funds are provided directly to the school during the first and second semesters. Please refer to the Department of Veterans Affairs' Yellow Ribbon Program webpage for more information.
Basic Allowance for Housing
BAH is paid based on the E-5 rate with dependents for Philadelphia.  Please refer to the Department of Defense BAH Calculator for the current rate. The VA pays this via direct deposit at the end of every month, pro-rated on months when school is not in session (eg: Winter and Summer Breaks).
Book Stipend
The VA provides a yearly stipend of up to $1,000 for books.  This is generally paid over two semesters.
